Background
Berylla Goodbarrel was born into a family of brewers, and she’s managed to turn that family tradition into a thriving business. Her inn, The Jolly Tankard, is well-known for its excellent brews and warm hospitality. Berylla is always ready with a kind word and a listening ear for her patrons, and she’s not afraid to step in and sort out any trouble that might arise. She’s been known to break up more than one bar fight with a stern word and a swift bang of her tankard on the counter.
She’s a treasure trove of local gossip and lore, and her establishment is a central hub for adventurers looking for work, locals seeking relaxation, and travelers needing a warm bed for the night. Despite her warm and jovial demeanor, Berylla is no pushover and can be a fierce protector of her establishment and her patrons.
This should give you a pretty well-rounded NPC who can both serve as a helpful resource to your player characters and potentially as an interesting side character with her own motivations and storylines. Of course, feel free to adjust any of these details to better fit your campaign!
